The Rust Guard utilizes the principle of a sacrificial anode: it is made of aluminum, a base metal that specifically attracts rust-causing particles before they can settle on your cutlery.
Flash rust is caused by tiny iron particles in the water that settle on cutlery or in the dishwasher. This can be caused by old water pipes, metal abrasion, or rusty machine parts.
Ideally in the cutlery basket or the upper dish rack. It is important that it is thoroughly rinsed by the water so that it works reliably with every wash cycle.
Depending on water hardness and usage, the Rust Guard provides protection for up to 4 months. After that, we recommend replacing it to ensure lasting protection.
